Astrological Energies November 7 to 13, 2011

THE PERFECT STORM. Those words have reached me three times in the past two days -- first through a posting I read on Lightworkers.com, then through a client's description of her recent experience, and then during meditation this morning.

I've never seen the movie by that title, so am not in a position to comment on the term from that perspective -- but I am aware that it is a confluence of events that create the ideal conditions for a major occurrence.

Synchronicities (such as hearing the same term several times in a short period) often occur to help confirm something for us regarding our personal or spiritual growth, so perhaps this message was "just for me." But given the fact that there is great anticipation about the coming week, I am also drawn to share this synchronicity with you.

WE DO HAVE an interesting week ahead, energetically speaking. From an astrologer's standpoint, the Full Moon on Thursday is the highlight of the week. This Full Moon represents the culmination of the cycle that began with the New Moon on October 26 -- which most of us will recall as being a time when we started a new surge forward, into and past specific issues and obstacles.

But, there is also great anticipation of the meaning of the date 11/11/11, which occurs this Friday. More than a few groups and individuals have planned events to take advantage of what is perceived as an important day energetically.

Does this date really mark an important shift point? My personal knowing is that there has been a sizable energy shift going on since the third week in October, and I am curious -- as I'm sure we all are! -- to see if the recent building of energy has been in preparation for a specific crescendo, or simply part of the ongoing changes.

AS I'M WRITING, the meaning of "a perfect storm" in this current context is becoming more clear. The confluence of energies this week involves at least three components: our deep desire for something that will catapult us into a more spiritually-based experience; the mysticism and magic associated with double and triple numbers (known as Master Numbers); and the intentions of our partners in nonphysical realms to assist us in shifting into higher-consciousness, higher-vibrational versions of ourselves.

If we are, after all, creators of this reality, what more powerful creative force could there be than our human desire, intention and anticipation, supported by the intentions and energetic assistance of our cosmic counterparts?

Now, back to our regularly scheduled (astrological) programming...

OUR NEW MOON two weeks ago highlighted the Venus-Mercury alignment in Scorpio. Since then, the two planets have been traveling together, side by side, degree by degree. Correspondingly, many of us have been dealing with issues of power balance within relationship (Venus in Scorpio), and with communicating with greater honesty and sovereignty (Mercury in Scorpio).

The relationship issues that we have been dealing with may connect specifically to events that occurred a year ago, when Venus was in Scorpio for an extended period due to going retrograde in the sign. September through December 2010 was a time of stirring up what had been hidden, bringing karmic issues and power struggles to the surface, and requiring that we deal with them directly.

With this current Venus-Mercury alignment, we have been given opportunities to complete anything that was not finished back in 2010, to release the residual negativity from our physical, emotional and mental bodies, and to move forward with greater personal empowerment and truth.

THIS COMPLETION is just one component of the culmination indicated astrologically this week. Neptune and Chiron also finish their retrograde phases and go direct -- Neptune on Wednesday, and Chiron on Thursday. We are now wrapping up the review process that the retrograde phase represents, with respect to both our spiritual path (Neptune) and our healing journey (Chiron).

As these two planets station (stand still) in preparation for a new phase of forward motion, we likewise are taking stock of where we have been, in preparation for new growth. This week, and over the weeks to come, we will be making new strides in releasing the illusions of separation and victimization, and moving even more completely into Trust and Knowing.

THE SABIAN SYMBOL for the 19th degree of Taurus, the location of this Full Moon, is a powerful indicator of what we have been through and the possibilities that lie before us:

"A new continent rising out of the ocean: The surge of new potentiality after the crisis."

The interpretation of this symbolic image (from Dane Rudhyar's book An Astrological Mandala) reads:

"When the mind has been emptied and light has been called upon to purify the consciousness freed from its attachment and contaminations, a new release of life can emerge out of the infinite Ocean of potentiality, the Virgin SPACE. What will it be used for?
"We find here a suggestion of how to approach whatever new phase of life has been not only hoped for, but actually confirmed. The 'technique' is simply to allow the infinite Potential to operate in unconstrained SPONTANEITY. This means to have reached a state in which the conscious, rational ego is no longer a controlling factor."

That this this powerful symbol should be brought to light by the Full Moon right before 11/11/11 is quite amazing, as it echoes the themes of the triple-eleven date as being a gateway or portal to a new level of consciousness. It is another indicator of the "perfect storm" mentioned at the beginning of today's Journal -- the confluence of images and intentions that seem to be coming together this week.

ONE LAST NOTE, regarding the Pluto-Saturn aspect that is exact on Friday. The aspect is a quintile, which occurs when two planets are separated by 72 degrees, exactly one-fifth of the 360-degree zodiac circle.

The quintile is said to be an aspect representing "creative alignment with the Will of the Cosmos." The energy of this aspect can remain dormant until we have gained a certain level of self-realization. When that level is reached, the individual is ready to channel their creative potential as inspired by a deep level of Knowing what has previously been Unknown.

Pluto is the planet of Regeneration, Empowerment and Divine Will, while Saturn rules Manifestation, Discipline and Karma. Have we reached the needed level of self-realization necessary for us to take advantage of the creative potentials this quintile represents? Time will tell...
